This emergency individual first aid kit has virtually everything needed for the severest injuries. The Israeli bandage is heat shrink vacuum sealed with 5 year shelf life. I've checked various medical websites and as long as it stays sealed it should remain sterile and safe to use beyond it's shelf life. It's one of those bits of kit it's good to have but hope never have to use. Very pleased with this first aid kit. It's very competitively priced considering everything that's in it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
Extra note: manufacturer warranty expires at end of shelf life of the Israeli bandage and they advise to replace if expired.
If all I have is an expired bandage in a dire situation and the options are:
1, bleed to death
2, use an out of date bandage, stop the bleeding but risk possibly getting an infection...
I know which option I'd choose. As I've stated the Israeli bandage does arrive with a 5 year shelf life so there's plenty of time before considering getting a replacement. The whole kit is excellent value with good quality products and I definitely recommend it.
Good little kit that one can add to. Nice bag that should attach easily to any kit /vest one has. Will add a couple other items. But. Its a solid buy. Wasnt impressed with the communication ofanother from another seller. And was nigh on impossible to track. Almost gave up and ordered another from TriPeakMedic. As it was. I still ordered a tourniquet just in case this kit didnt arrive. Hopefully the another seller will read this and use a better company for shipping or give honest updates
Good survival kit, good supplies, great tourniquet, scissors OK but sharp,a lot of different supplies, good to add to to make a good field kit
